Daryl Benkendorfer, PLA - President
A native Texan with over 40 years of experience, Daryl is a landscape architect driven by a passion for designing inspiring and functional spaces. He was introduced to the profession at a young age through two of his father's childhood friends, both esteemed landscape architects. This early connection led to two of his proudest career achievements: establishing an Endowed Scholarship at Texas A&M in his father’s best friends honor and the unforgettable experience of collaborating with his other mentor on a multi-year project.
A passionate award-winning designer, Daryl is well recognized for his strong technical knowledge, which allows him to deliver creative yet practical solutions. His “old-school” commitment to building trust with clients and colleagues has fostered professional relationships that often span decades. A third-generation Aggie and two-time “Aggie 100” honoree, Daryl's roots to Texas A&M run deep, and he is a frequent visitor to the campus, always ready to lend his time and expertise when called upon.
When he's not designing, you'll find him touring local plant nurseries, fly fishing the waters of Central Texas or the lagoons and flats of the tropics. Daryl has been married to his junior-high school sweet heart for over 43 years. He cherishes family time, especially with his granddaughter and new born grandson.
